Despite PKR-DAP(PAS) claims that all malaysians are now into racial unity of becoming Malaysian Malaysia. I just wonder, why the need of having road signs with many languages on it? Should we all stick to one official language, either it be Bahasa or English? Obviously now,Instead of seeing racial unity with malaysian malaysia set of mind, i see more and more prominent evidence of racial chaos and diversion. With dominant demands from chinese communities from the pig farm to the fund for the chinese schools in Perak, what bout nasional school?tamil school?dont they deserved the same fund too?. I belief, their ideas of Malaysian Malaysia will allow anyone to practice their religions freely, but why Theresa Kok demanded the muslim mosque not to call for azan using speaker? I thought the official religion in Malaysia is islam. Futhermore i belief there shall be no descrimination on employement, there should not be any shop to only employ chinese staff or malay staff, however i see more and more vacancy ad who specifically mention “chinese only”. All this doesnt make sense to me. Am i the only one who feel this way?

the invasion of indie wannabes
Posted by miloskilos under milo's stereos | Tags: local indie bands |Leave a Comment
Since the awekening appreciation towards local indiependant bands. The local indie bands now is the new ‘commercial’, leaving mainstream bands, artist or musicians away from becoming favourites. The decreasing qualities of songs with repetitive beats, hooks and lyrics with some of it unshamefully duplicate other sounds from neighbouring countries has futher push the mainstream music futher away from the public.
Altough the trend is all positive esp generating fresh new ideas and talents from the new younger generations of musicians, some of the indie songs from many new bands or musicians becoming more and more dull these days.
These are few list of things comes from indie bands that i found mind boggling.
1. Recycling hooks and lyrics from other songs.
-yes. some of the new indie songs unshamefully copied lyrics from other songs. Their lyrics are becoming more and more predictable. Expect cheesy predictable lyrics such as “berdansa bersama, ikut rentak irama’, or unoriginal rap verse copied from international rappers.
2.unshamefully trying too hard to sound indonesian.
- Gone were the days where, indie bands wrote onpoint, impromptu lyrics which reflecting the local ‘right now’ lingo. For bahasa lyrics,Now, they tend to unshamefully replace ‘tidak’ as ‘bisa’. Just that, while others wording doesnt reflect indonesian at all, leaving their song with incomplete execution. Even worst, some of the vocalist try so hard to imitate indonesian pronounciation in delivering their songs. word like “cuba” is pronounce as “coba”. I wonder if these bands has a solid marketing plan to market their album in Indonesia by doing that. They didnt learn and observe how otai’s band craft their work. For example Butterfingers’s latest song ‘Bebas’ is proudly deliver by emmet in a truly malaysian version. From the on point lyric to his pronouciation of those words. The whole song itself has a inner value full of message for us to appreciate.
3. Good band, Bad vocalist/frontmen.
-Many indie bands failed to capture audience let alone survive in the industry due their vocalist’s fault. Some of the vocalist cannot sing, with voice too painful to listen or too nasal for ears. Sadly some of the bands has a very solid band.To make it worst, their vocalist didnt have the charisma to lead a band, lack of PR and on stage persona, to the extend between song bridge during a live gig. He can sit on a couch while his percussions/guitarist performing. Point is, the musicians of any bands should know when to replace their vocalist/frontmen if he/she cannot live up the expectation. (sorry i cant name those vocalist, you know urself)
4.wannabes rapper who cant rap.
It tickle me off everytime i heard any local wannabe rapper who obviously cant rap. I dont want to pick names, you just listen to any indie/mainstream rap songs by our local artist. They obviously cant rhyme and too superficial to look at. Some of them, rap as if they are in 1980s, you know, “i like big butt and i cannot lie, you other brothers cant deny” type of rap. hehehe
. There a few good rapper in malaysia who can flow and deliver as good, or even better than the western rapper, these wannabee rapper should look upon for advice from joe flizzow, reefa, caprice, tricky tongue, etc.
5. Poor profiency in english language.
-How hurtful and sad to listen to a local english song from an indie band with poor english profiency. Obviously we will wonder if these guy are well verse in their english conversation when listening to their bad singing. Honestly to me, if you are not good in english better to sing and write a bahasa song.Less painful to them and to us, listener too.

M.I.A finally arrives.
Posted by miloskilos under milo's stereos | Tags: arular, boyz, galang, kala, m.i.a, paper plans, saer ze |Leave a Comment
Few years ago M.I.A or Maya Arulpragasam, a British citizen’s Sri Lankan is just another struggling artist trying to get a break and to dominate the world just like any other artist in this world.

M.I.A
I first notice her tru ‘galang’ video played on channel V asia. Earlier this year, i then notice her video ‘boyz’ was aired on channel v. So i reckon she had a new album released. Good for her.
m.i.a creative inspiration is very flashy tru her music, videos and of course art work. It strongly reflects her Sri Lankan roots. Her lyrics are from politics and messages of hopes to the silly things of boys romance and love.Catchy and clever in many ways.

Saer Ze
Saer Ze, a malaysian indie artist, now based in UK has a similar musical resemblance with M.I.A. However both artist are different and unique in their own ways. Saer Ze music lingers around the teenagers and the glamour world.pretty much the typical sex and rock and roll. Their only resemblance other than their being asian, are their music, full off catchy weird interesting hooks and addictive beats.
Back to M.IA.Last week, i choked myself upon hearing ‘boyz’ was used as intro jingle during MTV US video music award. From that moment i knew she finally make it big.
Man, i was right, when i checked billboard us singles hit chart today, her song ‘paper planes’ hit #5 on billboard 100 chart. I quickly google her latest news on the net and i was right, things are finally fallen for M.I.A. Her sound finally embraced as the IT thing. Reading all the raves reviews.
Congratulations to M.I.A. her hard work and consistency in getting acceptance and appreciatation for her music has finally paid off. She slowly climb her way up, and i bet from this moment on, upon hitting it at the top of Billboard 100 singles chart, she will dominate other music charts in the rest of the world much easily.

Few days of non productive soul. Becoming a lazy bum is actually torturous. As if a black dark clouds covering my days with no sunshine. Eventough i tried so hard to fight my inner devil by opening up those pages trying to get into the mood of digesting facts and figures. Man, i failed.
I flunk my paper. lol. Didnt study hard enough for it. So i have to resit the paper next month, After Raya eve.DAMN!
Anyway thanks to HSBC i got complimentary 2 JetStar Air Tickets to Singapore. Im not sure if the backpackers hostel will be fully book at xmas time as i plan to visit singapore on xmas week.
What is a must do thing in Singapore other than taking photos at the iconic places? Are there any gigs during that week? Concert? etc. Where is the best not to be missed place to eat and visits?
Probably you readers can share it with me since, i never been to Singapore before.

Camp Rock

I may be the cook’s daughter and my father may not be rich, but I’m a much better person than someone who feels good about herself because she makes everyone else feel bad
Mitchie, camp rock.

joe jonas
The main reason i look forward for ‘Camp Rock’ is because of The Jonas Brothers were in it. Since i didnt recognize any other actors except for them. However to my suprise, Alyson Stoner was part of the cast aswell, She play Catyln. I first notice her acting since cheaper by the dozen, yeah the one with Hilarry Duff in it. The latest movie of her that i saw is “step up”. But actually i remember her from missy elliot and eminem video. yeah. remember lil girl with crumpling moves?that was her!

Alyson
In Camp Rock she grown a lil bit. However she didnt have many lines in it, Probably later she will have better offers. She reminds me of Nelly Furtado. Really.
Well anyway Camp Rock is a typical Disney movie. filled with positive messages. This time is about embracing our selves. The music was ok. Not all is as catchy as high school musicals. The only song that stuck in my head is the reaggeton tune ‘Hasta La Vista’.
Hasta La Vista
It’s Your boy Barron
Yo
And the place to be
It’s crazy
Come rock with me!
Couldn’t wait to leave,
But now I hate to go
Last day of camp,
Packing my bags slow
Made so many friends,
Why does it have to end
In the end its a win,
Because we grown so close together
Remember when we first met,
First day
Figured this would be no fun,
No way
And now its time to leave, (leave)
But now we wanna stay, (stay, stay, stay, stay)
Oh!
Hasta la vista
I’m gonna say goodbye to you
Whatever happens I’ll be cool with you
Wanna give me your number I’ll call ya
Promise I won’t forget ya
Hasta la vista
We’ll all be going seperate ways
Say everything you didn’t say
This is your moment, before you go
Come on now get up and show them
Keep doing your thing, thing, thing
Keep doing your thing, thing, thing
(And I’m gonna do my thing)
There’s so much inside of me
There’s so much more I just want to be
All the things I’ve seen, obviously I’m inspired
Got love for all the friendships I’ve acquired
Everybody put a hand up, put a hand up, hey, hey, hey Everybody put a hand up, put a hand up and say hey, hey, hey
Hasta la vista I’m gonna say goodbye to you
Whatever happens I’ll be cool with you
Wanna give me your number I’ll call ya
Promise I won’t forget ya
Hasta la vista
We’ll all be going seperate ways
Say everything you didn’t say
This is your moment, before you go
Come on now get up and show them
Keep doing your thing, thing, thing
Keep doing your thing, thing, thing
Keep doing your thing, thing, thing
Keep doing your thing, thing, thing
H-A-S-T-A
(La Vista)
H-A-S-T-A

Hasta la vista

Whatever happens I’ll be cool with you
Wanna give me your number I’ll call ya
Promise I won’t forget ya
Hasta la vista
We’ll all be going seperate ways
Say everything you didn’t say
This is your moment, before you go

Situasi
Diskriminasi menjatuhkan aku
Reputasi kini menjadi bisu
dan aku , ku layu
disitu
Mengharapkan sesuatu yang baru
itulah impian aku
Chorus
Dan bila kau menghilang
Musnah la, musnah impian
tuk menggapai bintang
terangi hidup ku
Ku mahu kau tahu
engkaulah, destinasiku
dalam ingatanku .. oh oh oh…
Kerana diri ini tak daya lagi
menempuh hidup yang ku temui
dan aku , ku tunggu .. oh oh oh
disitu
Mengharapkan sesuatu yang baru
itulah impian aku
Ulang Chorus 2 x
Been in love with this group since silly lily, now im loving them even more. their new bahasa single is so HOT.Dont forget to request for ’situasi’ by bunkface on every radio stations esp on carta x40, Xfresh.fm!

Dont mess with the zohan
Posted by miloskilos under milo's movies | Tags: adam sandler, dont mess with the zohan, mariah carey |1 Comment
i just want to make people silky smooth!

Any movie with adam sandler would of course be hilarious. Having to watch the trailer, i understand that dont mess with the zohan would be larger than life fictional over the top comedy. But never i expect its going to be so hilarious and filled with spot on pokes on the issue between arab-israeli. and of course over the top penis joke. lol
in a way, i felt sorry for parents who bring their kids along to watch this movie. This movie is rated “U” in malaysia which is open for general audience. i think it should be more approrately rate under 18SX or 18PL.The minute i went out of the cinema there are few bunch of kids giggling recalling few jokes from the movie, a boy specifically mention to his dad that the “konek” jokes is so funny!.*Pengsan.
I must say rob scheinder play a good role as salim. i didnt notice it was him as salim, until the movie end credit role up. He play an arab with a perfect 10.
Of course any mariah fans would have smile in joy since adam sandler basically unshamefully puts mariah carey everywhere in this movie from zohan’s tshirt, to using her songs in few scenes. and Mariah Carey herself did a hilarious cameo playing herself in the movie. its funny.
