My friend and I managed to drop by at EcoKnight festival at ASWARA on Sunday afternoon. Im very much satisfied with the event set up. The stalls is not disappointing either. There are quite a number of stalls selling interesting stuff such as tshirt, accessories, food etc. I manage to buy a killer tshirt.

Judging by the crowd attendance, the organizer’s obviously has failed to pull the crowd to the event. It is probably due to transportation problem or lack of promotion. Its quite sad a very good beneficial event like this doesn’t get a deserving attention from the public.

Maybe in future, the organizer should try locating their volunteers at strategic public places such as LRT nearby the venue to distribute flyers about the event other than solely depends on radio ad via Xfresh.fm.

An event such as this actually appeal to educated citizens and expatriates and urbanites, thus having volunteers distributing flyers at strategic places where people within that physcographic hangout would be appropriate such as Bukit Bintang,Bangsar,Hartamas,Damansara.etc.

They should also consider notifying the event to corporate companies and government bodies in Klang Valleys such as Petronas, DBKL, TNB, Telekom, Genting, Etc and local collages and universities within Klang Valley such as UNIKL, UIA, UM, UTM, MMC etc, at least they can pull a much bigger and targeted crowd within a nearby demographic.Oh well.

Anyway, the dark gloomy sky didn’t seem to bug anyone under the tent at ASWARA’s Anjung Beringin to enjoy Malaysian own youtube sensation’s Koko Kaina aka Zee Avi’s performance later that afternoon.

Wearing a simple red dress with a brown sweater, Koko Kaina began her first performance with  ‘The Traveller’. She continues her performance with ‘Honeybee’ before changing her guitar to a simple ukulele for the song ‘monsoon melody’. Just about time when the rain started to pour heavily a perfect setting for such a romantic song. She then closed her set with ‘kantoi’, a hilarious take on disloyalty.

This is my first time listening to her vocal on a ‘live’ face to face performance. I must say, her vocal delivery and style is top class. Well, just like chenelle, and Shayna Zaid. Koko Kaina proves that, Malaysian talents got what it takes to conquer the world. Hopefully their steps will inspire more local talents to work even harder in revolutionizing their creative juices to gain not only local but international recognition aswell.
